My Story

Charlotte Cooper.

Hello my name is Charlotte, I was fortunate enough to discover counselling at the age of 50, and after 4 years of study and significant self discovery, I became a Person-Centred counsellor. During my final year of college, I completed my placement at Wessex Cancer Support in Newport, this is when my counselling journey truly began.

Reflecting on the 100 hours there, I learnt about the strength and resilience that is inherent in all of us. My client's courage inspired me and reminded me of our fragility, but more importantly of how we have the power to overcome and emerge stronger and more focused. I feel honoured to have been part of each of my clients journeys.

I have faced challenges in the past, which has given me a deep understanding of the importance of having someone to listen and stand by your corner. We all encounter difficult situations at various points in our lives, but it's how we deal with these situations that make all the difference. Unfortunately I didn't receive the knowledge or guidance to allow me to work through my difficulties, so this was done in isolation, it's for this reason that I am passionate about what I do. I feel strongly that everyone deserves to be given the tools to help themselves when needed.

Charlotte made me feel comfortable and supported me throughout the process. Her approach is gentle and understanding, which helped me open up during our sessions.

Two people are sitting at a desk engaged in conversation. A woman with long blonde hair and glasses is facing a man with short hair, both appear to be in a professional setting. A laptop and a monitor displaying content related to their discussion are on the desk. A plant is positioned in the corner of the office providing a touch of greenery.
